That's that from today's CPL razzmatazz. until next time, goodbye and good night! Cheers...
Lewis:
"I think it was a good knock. Good for the team and good for myself.
*chuckles* (when asked if he likes rum.) Good communication with the
senior players, it really helped me a lot. Hardwork really paid off
today. We lost the first 2 games and we needed to win this game,
hopefully we will get the momentum going."
Faf:
"Extremely happy. We needed this win badly. We were gonna chase as
well, looks like it's gonna get better in the night. The bowlers were
really at their best today. Devon is a quality player, we know he's a
good player. We thought it's a good time to promote him up the order and
it paid off. As soon as we broke the opening stand, we slowed it down
and it went quite well since then. Shamsi is a quality bolwer and he
delivered us for today."
Sammy:
"I guess today they were a better team and congrats to them for
winning. We were not at our best in the powerplay, Lewis and Simmons got
going, and at the rate they were going it was increidble. We thought we
were in with a chance but they really played well and deserved to win.
We will discuss and review it now and will come back strong for the next
game."
So,
the home team seals an easy win. A much-needed one for them, once they
got a mammoth score the bowlers ensured that effort didn't go in vain.
Brathwaite and Perera were the pick of the bowlers as the duo nailed the
yorkers more often than not. St Lucia Zouks had a dream start with
90-run opening stand but unfortunately, never got going as the rest of
the batsmen struggled for timing. It has been a limp phase of play since
Watto's departure...
